In this report different types of bucket elevator are discussed along their different parts and the design of centrifugal discharge bucket elevator with simultaneous buckets for lifting wheat at a certain height is reported for a particular output rate. Driving mechanism\r\n2. Feed mechanism\r\n3. Indexing mechanism\r\n\u00a0\r\n\u00a0\r\n\r\nAUTOMATIC EMBOSSING DRILLING MACHINE Mechanical Project\r\n\r\n\u00a0\u00a0\r\n\r\n\u00a0\r\n1. DRIVING MECHANISM:\r\nIn driving mechanisms a single-phase AC motor is used for driving the whole machine. \u00a0Though the speed of the motor is less, it can carry more loads on it. \u00a0Power of the motor is 0.75 hp. \u00a0The rotary motion of the motor is transmitted to the worm gear in the gearbox by chain and sprocket mechanism. \u00a0A wheel is aligned to the worm gear and the motion is transmitted.\r\n\u00a0\r\n2. FED MECHANISM:\r\n\u00a0\r\nOne side of the wheel inside the gearbox connected to the crank disc. \u00a0Main function of the crank disc is to convert the rotary motion into linear vertical motion to get vertical feed for drilling head. \u00a0A link mechanism in a lever connects crank disc and hand drilling machine. \u00a0It helps to transmit vertical feed to the hand drilling machine.\r\n\u00a0\r\n3. INDEXING MECHANISM:\r\n\u00a0\r\nFrom the wheel with the help of link mechanism, motion is transmitted to an arm to which pawl-1 is connected. Moreover, to be able to use the classical optimization method, often such problem is divided into suitable sub problems and solved in stages. The selection of an objective function is one of the most important decisions in the whole optimum synthesis process. In some situations, an obvious objective function exists. In other cases, an objective function exists because the design is part of a larger and complicated system whose end use, is considered to be the best satisfied by having parts which are optimized with respect to certain characteristics.\u00a0\r\nThe problem of design of the gripper mechanisms is difficult to optimize because of geometric constraints which make only a tiny fraction of the search space feasible. Grasp force optimization techniques are discussed by Bicchi and Yu et al.\u00a0\r\nThe work presents a mathematical model of the optimum design of the self-centering grippers, with two symmetrical fingers and plane active surfaces of the jaws.\u00a0\r\nA large category of the self-centering grippers has the symmetrical structure with respect to a plane which contains the cylindrical work piece axis. The fingers are attached to the connecting rods of the plane linkages. A constrained rigid body system can be a kinematic chain, a mechanism, a structure, or none of these. The influence of kinematic constraints in the motion of rigid bodies has two intrinsic aspects, which are the geometrical and physical aspects. In other words, we can analyze the motion of the constrained rigid bodies from their geometrical relationships or using Newton's Second Law.\r\n\r\nA mechanism is a constrained rigid body system in which one of the bodies is the frame. The degrees of freedom are important when considering a constrained rigid body system that is a mechanism. It is less crucial when the system is a structure or when it does not have definite motion.\r\n\r\nCalculating the degrees of freedom of a rigid body system is straight forward. Any unconstrained rigid body has six degrees of freedom in space and three degrees of freedom in a plane. Adding kinematic constraints between rigid bodies will correspondingly decrease the degrees of freedom of the rigid body system. In our project we are going to perform the power steering system with the help of worm and worm wheel gear in order to attain maximum working efficiency.\u00a0\r\nIn our setup, the worm wheel diameter is maintained at maximum for attaining the easiness of the system. Due to this variable dimensions the rotations of wheel which is attached along with the steering shaft drives the worm gear in high extent so the wheels are aligned due to the little positioning of the steering. This system is one of the compact and simple system which is needed for modern environment.\r\n\u00a0\r\nINTRODUCTION:\r\nPower steering systems are probably the most used servo system by the common man, even though most users never give it a second thought. The first power steering unit was invented by Francis W. Davis in the mid 1920\u2019s, but was not introduced in passenger cars until 1951. This system was of the type: ball and nut, and is still in use in vehicles with higher steering forces, typically larger trucks.\r\nThe predominant system used today is of the type: rack and pinion, which was introduced in the late 1960\u2019s in medium performance sports cars. There are several different power assisted steering, PAS, solutions for passenger cars on the market today. The most common is the rack and pinion solution with a constant flow controlled pump, Hydraulic Power Assisted Steering - HPAS system. More recently an Electric Power Assisted Steering, EPAS system, was introduced in smaller cars. We have planned to create the mechanically operated one called worm and worm wheel power steering system.\r\n\u00a0\r\nWORKING PRINCIPLE\r\nThe experimental setup consists of steering wheel which is attached with the worm wheel and this wheel arrangement is coupled with the worm which is linked to the wheel arrangement.\u00a0\r\nWhen the steering wheel is tilted to a certain angle then it activates the worm wheel there by activating the worm which tends to change the position of the wheel due to the link attached with it. Paper plates are traditionally made by hand in Indian villages and our aim is to convert this laborious craft into a machine operation to make these paper plate in elegant shapes and sizes\u201d. The base paper for paper plates is called kraft. This kraft is coated with the thin layer of silver film. This paper is then pass through successive stages of rolling, and then gets wounded on a roller. Then it is cut for required dimensions. After then this paper of required dimensions is pass to the press machine for giving required shape of plate. The operations from taking out the roller of coated paper, cutting it for required dimensions and then transferring it to the press machine are carried out manually.\r\n\r\n\r\n \tThis project work deals with mechanically operated paper plate making machine instead of made by hand in traditional way of laborious craft.
