But most CVTs are complex, expensive, have poor efficiencies, and aren't scalable. A new type of CVT, CONTINUOSLY VARIABLE PLANETARY TRANSMISSION(CVPT),combines toroidaltraction CVT with the versatility of the planetary gear arrangement to create a low-cost, highly efficient drive for human-powered and motorized vehicles.While the CVPT uses rolling traction to distribute torque like toroidal CVTs, it distributes the transmitted torque over several spheres in an inherently stable configuration. The rotating balls between the input and output section of the CVT tilt to vary transmission speed. As the balls tilt, they change their contact diameters to vary the speed ratio. This lowers contact pressures and improves durability, stability, and torque density. And since it uses a planetary arrangement, torque can be summed or divided.In the present work, a CVPT has been mounted to a bicycle for conducting the experiments. Normally tilting of spheres for changing gear ratios is done manually, however in our case, this has been obtained automatically. For automated shifting, a shift actuator, a controller and a battery to power this circuit is used.Also, results have been obtained with speed variations of a bicycle with and without CVPT. Graphs are plotted using the obtained results and analysed.\r\n\r\nINTRODUCTION\r\nA continuously variable transmission (CVT) is a transmission that can change steplessly through an infinite number of effective gear ratios between maximum and minimum values. This contrasts with other mechanical transmissions that offer a fixed number of gear ratios. The flexibility of a CVT allows the driving shaft to maintain a constant angular velocity over a range of output velocities. This can provide better fuel economy than other transmissions by enabling the engine to run at its most efficient revolutions per minute (RPM) for a range of vehicle speeds. Alternatively it can be used to maximize the performance of a vehicle by allowing the engine to turn at the RPM at which it produces peak power. This is typically higher than the RPM that achieves peak efficiency. Finally, a CVT does not strictly require the presence of a clutch, allowing the dismissal thereof. In some vehicles though (i.e. motorcycles), a centrifugal clutch is nevertheless added however this is only to provide a \"neutral\" stance on a motorcycle.\r\n\r\nCONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE PLANETARY TRANSMISSION (CVPT)\r\nA continuously variable transmission (CVT) is a type of automatic transmission that can change the \"gear ratio\" (gears are not generally involved) to any arbitrary setting within the limits. The CVT is not constrained to a small number of gear ratios, such as the 4 to 6 forward ratios in typical automotive transmissions. CVT control computers often emulate the traditional abrupt gear changes, especially at low speeds, because most drivers expect the sudden jerks and will reject a perfectly smooth transmission as lacking in apparent power. The CVPT is continuously variable and infinitely applicable to almost any product using mechanical power transmission. Planetary transmission technology combines the advantages of a toroidal traction CVT with the time-proven versatility of the planetary gear arrangement. It uses rolling traction to transfer torque, just as do toroidal transmissions. However, unlike toroidal CVTs, it distributes the transmitted torque over several spheres in an inherently stable configuration, thus lowering total clamping force required and significantly improving durability, control stability, and torque density. This arrangement makes the CVPT the only practical CVT to combine the smooth, continuous power transfer of a CVT with the utility of a conventional planetary gear drive. Torque inputs can be summed or divided, just as in a conventional planetary. Ratio control is stable, and can be actuated down the center line of the transmission, which again is similar to the proven planetary transmission. Part shapes are simple and relatively easy to manufacture, and in most applications, there is no need for power-robbing, high-pressure hydraulics. The CVPT reduces energy consumption, such as fuel, through its seamless speed changing characteristics, allowing the power input such as a gasoline engine to operate in its most efficient speed range. Overall, the CVPT\u2019s mechanical and manufacturing characteristics improve performance and reliability while reducing costs over traditional CVTs and stepped transmissions.\r\n\r\nWORKING MECHANISM\r\nCVP transmission uses a set of rotating and tilting balls positioned between the input and output components of a\u00a0transmission that tilt to vary the speed of the transmission. Tilting the balls changes their contact diameters and varies the speed ratio. As a result, the CVPT offers seamless and continuous transition to any ratio within its range, thus maximizing overall power train efficiency, with no jarring or shocks from the shifting process, and improving acceleration, performance and overall vehicle efficiency over conventional transmissions. When compared to traditional continuously variable transmissions (CVTs), the CVPT is less complex, has considerably fewer parts, offers more stable control and scalability across product lines, is better packaged, and is less expensive to manufacture and assemble.\r\n\r\nFabrication and Analysis Of A Continuously Variable Planetary Transmission System\r\n\r\nDIFFERENT PARTS OF CVPT\r\nThe tilting of balls can be done manually and automatically.We are making it automatic for this we have the following parts.\r\n\u2022 Hub.\r\n\u2022 Automatic shift actuator.\r\n\u2022 Controller.\r\n\u2022 A battery to run controller and shift actuator.\r\n\u2022 Hall effect sensor.\r\n\r\nDownload :\r\n\r\nFabrication and Analysis Of A Continuously Variable Planetary Transmission System","headline":"Fabrication and Analysis Of A Continuously Variable Planetary Transmission System","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Sachin Thorat","url":"\/\/www.gunkrazy.com\/"},"datePublished":"2018-09-29","mainEntityOfPage":"False","dateModified":"February 22, 2020","image":{"@type":"ImageObject","url":"\/\/www.gunkrazy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Fabrication-and-Analysis-Of-A-Continuously-Variable-Planetary-Transmission-System-300x197.jpg","height":197,"width":300},"publisher":{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Organization","name":"Learn Mechanical Engineering","logo":{"@type":"ImageObject","url":"\/\/www.gunkrazy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/learn-mech-logo-1-300x300.png","height":600,"width":60}}}

link to 3D modelling softwares questions and answers for interview

3D modelling softwares questions and answers for interview

3D modelling softwares questions and answers for interview

Reverse Osmosis(RO) Water Purification by Cycling Action meets the needs of people without requiring any electrical energy. RO is a physical process that uses the osmosis phenomenon, that is, the osmotic pressure difference between the salt water and the pure water to remove the salts from water. Water will pass through the membrane, when the applied pressure is higher than the osmotic pressure, while salt is retained. As a result, a low salt concentration permeate stream is obtained and a concentrated brine remains at the feed side. A typical RO system consists of four major sub-system : pre-treatment system, high-pressure pump, membrane module and post treatment system. In operation by pedaling the cycle, man power is converted into mechanical energy which is further converted into hydraulic energy in RO pump.\r\n\r\nIntroduction\r\nPure water is very much essential to survive but nowadays the water is getting contaminated due to industrialization which leads to many water related diseases.In many developing countries, people walk many miles to reach a source of water that is not necessarily potable.Water can contain dirt, minerals, chemicals and other impurities that make it smell and taste bad. Some of these contaminants can endanger health, especially when they include microscopic organisms and bacteria that can cause serious illness. Filtering water can help purify water, removing these impurities and making it safe to drink, while often improving its taste.A study conducted by various sources compared different modern methods of water purification- distillation, ultra-violet light, reverse osmosis, solid block activated carbon, granular activated carbon, water softeners, sediment filters, boiling, bottled water, ozonation, chlorination, ion exchange etc. Among all the above methods mentioned Reverse Osmosis is best suited for issues which were originally designed for mainly two things, they are: desalination of brackish water or sea water and reducing very specific chemical contaminants. Reverse Osmosis is needed to remove Fluoride, sodium, total dissolved salts, or chemicals like arsenic, radium and nitrates. In response to such a need, Reverse Osmosis Water Purification by Cycling Action is proposed to produce clean drinking water which uses human power to get pure form of water for drinking.The term water purification refers to a process, which selectively extracts pure water from an impure solution, leaving all kinds of impurities behind, regardless of their source or their nature. This is quite different than water treatment described above. There are only three scientifically recognized methods of water purification. These are: Distillation, freeze-thawing, and reverse osmosis (RO). Of these, reverse osmosis offers the most practical and economical approach to water purification. The equipment is compact, easy to operate, and it is highly energy-efficient, in comparison with distillation and freeze-thawing equipment. RO is an effective method of reducing the concentration of total dissolved solids and many impurities found in water.\r\n\r\nWorking Principle\r\nThe entire process of the design begins by adding salt water into the tank. All the heavy sediment is immediately removed as the water passes through several layered mesh micro filters. The initial filtering step is crucial because the RO filter would quickly clog if it had to filter heavier sediments.To set the purification system in motion we need to begin peddling the pedal. Since the pump mechanism is geared to minimize the effort needed to operate it, the user feels little to no difference in having to power the pump system compared to pedal a bicycle.The water then enters the four stages of the filters in RO system. Fig. Working Model.\r\n\r\nReverse Osmosis Water Purification by Cycling Action - Mechanical Project\u00a0\r\n\r\nThe first stage removes any very heavy sediment down to fine microns still left in the water that the first set of filters did not catch. The second stage removes any unwanted color, taste and odor. These two stages prepare the water for the most crucial step Reverse Osmosis. Without these previous two filters, the RO membrane could easily be destroyed by certain chemicals that may be in the dirty water. The more filtered the water in before passing through the RO membrane, the longer the membrane will last. The third stageis the heart of the system as it removes all particles down to 0.0001 micron in size. The fourth and final stage is a repeat of the second stage, purely to optimize water quality. From here, the water exits the system as potable water and rinse water. The purest water is used for drinking and the rinse water can be used in many ways other than drinking such as irrigation, cleaning etc. so that water can never get wasted.\r\n\r\nMain Components \r\n\r\nThe main components used to fabricate the model are:\r\n\r\n \tFilters\r\n \tChain Drive with Sprocket\r\n \tRotary Gear Pump\r\n\r\nThe advantages, disadvantages, applications and future scope of this project are:\r\n\r\nAdvantages\r\nThe advantages are as follows:\r\n\r\n \tIts operation and maintenance is very simple\r\n \tIt is compact and portable.\r\n \tIt is simple in process.\r\n \tPower saved and good exercise for human beings.\r\n\r\nDisadvantages\r\nThe disadvantages are as follows:\r\n\r\n \tSlow production rate.\r\n \tRequires lots of water to produce pure water.\r\n\r\nConclusion\r\nThe pedal operated water filtration system is a new system that is useful in developing countries like India to have daily access to safe drinking water all by harnessing the energy of pedal power.Reverse osmosis is a relatively new, but very effective application of an established scientific process. Whether it is used to meet the needs of a typical family of four, or the needs of an industrial operation requiring thousands of gallons per day, it can be a cost effective to provide the required quantity of highly treated water. With continual advances in system and membrane design that boost efficiency and reliability, RO can be expected to play a major role in water treatment for years to come.In Reverse Osmosis Water purification by Cycling Action\r\n\r\n \tSimple in design.\r\n \tPortable.\r\n \tEconomical.\r\n \tEffective way for providing potable water.\r\n \tLess maintenance.","headline":"Reverse Osmosis Water Purification by Cycling Action","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Sachin Thorat","url":"\/\/www.gunkrazy.com\/"},"datePublished":"2018-09-28","mainEntityOfPage":"False","dateModified":"February 22, 2020","image":{"@type":"ImageObject","url":"\/\/www.gunkrazy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Reverse-Osmosis-Water-Purification-by-Cycling-Action-Mechanical-Project--300x67.jpg","height":67,"width":300},"publisher":{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Organization","name":"Learn Mechanical Engineering","logo":{"@type":"ImageObject","url":"\/\/www.gunkrazy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/learn-mech-logo-1-300x300.png","height":600,"width":60}}}

link to Design and Fabrication of Typical Pipe Cutting Machine

Design and Fabrication of Typical Pipe Cutting Machine

Design and Fabrication of Typical Pipe Cutting Machine

The Pneumatic Jacks are compact and lightweight units that are used for lifting capacities. They offer easy operation and are fast acting components. The pneumatic jacks come with inbuilt release pedal for rapid lowering and lugs that make it easy to mount. The heavy duty chassis prevents the jack from twisting or bending and foot pump provides fast lift to the load. It also has a safety overload valve that prevents overloading beyond rated capacity. The pneumatic jack is designed with a super low-clearance combined with the unique total lift offering range that one needs ever. Together with the quick-lift pedal, the pneumatic jacks are suited for heavy duty intensive and commercial use. The jacks may also have extra wide stance for extra stability, complete air operation for low maintenance and long life.\r\nThe jacks have a longer wear life due to smooth bearing surfaces and close tolerances. The cold headed extension screw and release valve eliminate parts and reduce the chances of breakage and excessive wear.\r\n\r\nABSTRACT\r\n\r\nPneumatic jacks provide a means of lifting loads that otherwise could not be lifted by conventional mechanical (screw and scissors) jacks. A common Pneumatic jack with a lever arm and pump has two Mechanical Advantages (MA) built into it. One MA is due to the lever arm and the other is due to the ratio of the ram piston diameter squared (D2) to the pump piston diameter squared (d2), D2 \/ d2. The two MA\u2019s combine in a manner that results in a multiplying effect rather than an adding effect, which yields a much larger overall MA.\r\n\r\nfixed axial pneumatic jack mechanical project\r\n\r\nThe efficiency of a jack can be determined from the basic definition of efficiency, which are output \/ input. Engine Governing :\r\n\r\nThough there are many methods for the governing of I.C. engines, yet the following are important :\r\n\r\n1. Hit and miss governing. In this system of governing, whenever the engine starts running at higher speed (due to decreased load), some explosions are omitted or missed. This is done with the help of a centrifugal governor. This method of governing is widely used for I. C. engines of smaller capacity or gas engines.\r\n\r\n2. Qualitative governing. In this system of governing, a control valve is fitted in the fuel delivery pipe, which controls the quantity of fuel to be mixed in the charge. The movement of control valve is regulated by the centrifugal governor through rack and pinion arrangement.\r\n\r\n3. Quantitative governing. In this system of goverliing, the quality of charge (i.e. air-fuel ratio of the mixture) is kept constant. But the quantity of mixture supplied to the engine cylinder is varied by means of a throttle valve which is regulated by the centrifugal governor through rack and pinion arrangement.\r\n\r\n4.
